Rising Above Negativity: The Power of Faith and Gratitude
Negativity seems to be prevalent—woven into conversations, embedded in doubts, and sometimes projected onto us by others. But what if rising in life isn’t about fighting against the negativity but rather about resting in faith, choosing words with intention, and embracing gratitude? What if rising has to do with being mindful, praying, and surrendering to our Creator as we enter into a state of peace and calm?
The Power of “Yes, I Can”
This is the title of the first module in the primer, Take it to the Next Level: How to Rise In Life, with availability on Amazon anticipated in the near future.
Many of us have been told, “You can’t.” Whether it’s well-intentioned friends, family, or even our own inner voice, doubt can take root. And when we hear “no” enough times, we might start believing it. But true transformation happens when we step into unwavering faith—faith that the right opportunities will come, faith that what we need will be provided, and faith that we are supported in ways beyond what we can see.
Instead of pushing forward in reactivity or resistance, we learn to rest in the certainty that what is meant for us will not pass us by. This shift changes everything. No longer striving, we begin to rise effortlessly, carried by trust rather than struggle.
Words Reflect the Heart
What we say shapes our reality. When we speak words of doubt and limitation, we reinforce those very barriers. But when we affirm abundance, grace, and possibility, we step into a new way of thinking—one where we recognize that every step forward is already supported. Speaking with faith reminds us that we are not alone in this journey.
Gratitude as a Foundation for Growth
Gratitude has a transformative power. When we acknowledge the blessings already present in our lives—whether big or small—we shift our focus away from lack and into appreciation. This is where true elevation begins. When we anchor ourselves in gratitude, we stop worrying about what we don’t have and instead recognize how much is already unfolding for us.
The Caregiver’s Challenge: Choosing Light Over Struggle
At a caregivers conference, I listened as one person after another shared the difficulties they faced while supporting a loved one. Their stories were heavy, filled with pain, exhaustion, and uncertainty. While I recognized the importance of allowing space for people to unburden, I also felt the need to rise above the weight of negativity—not by ignoring it, but by grounding myself in faith, warmth, and gratitude.
I did this by breathing deeply and appreciating the goodness of the very air sustaining me, by exuding warmth toward those presenting, offering silent compassion rather than absorbing their pain as my own, and by reminding myself that there is always light at the end of every tunnel. These simple acts became anchors, helping me remain present while holding onto hope.
We rise, not by force, but by surrender
As I continue working on Take it to the Next Level: How to Rise in Life, I look forward to sharing more snippets from modules that are ready. If this resonates with you, stay tuned—I’ll be sharing more soon.
